New Threads Theatre Company and Next Exit Production are thrilled to announce the winners of the 2025 Southeastern Short Play Contest.
We received over 100 incredible submissions from playwrights across the region, and after much reading, laughing, and deliberating, we’ve selected eight amazing short plays to receive a public staged reading as part of The Greenhouse Festival at Barking Legs Theatre this June in Chattanooga, TN.
These thought-provoking comedies and dramas are fresh, bold, and brimming with talent—we can’t wait to share them with you. A HUGE thank you to everyone who submitted—we were blown away by your creativity and passion.
